MAHIKENG-Premier of North West, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape accompanied by the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari will visit the families of nineteen (19) people who died in a head on collision between Bloemhof and Schweizer-Reneke on Saturday night on the R34 road.

Fourteen (14) of the deceased are from one family while the other five are from another family. Both families are from Ipelegeng Township in Schweizer Reneke and were travelling together from Bloemhof.

Three of the survivors have been admitted in the local hospital and are in a stable condition with serious injuries.

Premier Maape says he is saddened by this tragic accident. He has appealed to road users to exercise caution on the roads to ensure their own safety and that of other road users.

“On behalf of the provincial government and the people of our beloved province I would like to take this opportunity and convey our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those who died in this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult period of mourning” said Premier Maape.
